GOLF

Fifteen years ago South Africa was still an insider tip when it comes to golf. Today South Africa is very popular with golfers.

There are over 500 golf courses all over the country. Every major town in this region has a course. Many courses were also designed in this region by golf greats such as Ernie Els, Jack Nicklaus or Peter Matkovich, extremely successful professionals who have dedicated themselves to the design of new golf courses and are among the most outstanding golf course architects in the world.

Pearl Valley is of course one of the signature courses for the country, international tournaments like the SAA Open are held here ... and you live right there. The exclusivity of this golf course is still affordable and of course, through my golf membership, you will receive a special price here. But also Boschenmeer, right next door, with its 27 holes and located directly on the Berg River, is very nice to play.

Of course, you can also rent golf equipment on both courses, which is of very good quality. Again, the prices are affordable.

Pearl Valley in detail

This magnificent golf course, designed by Jack Nicklaus, is the center of our Pearl Valley Golf Estate.

According to experts, "Ihr Heimatplatz" is one of the best golf courses in South Africa and is therefore also the host of the SA Open Championship of the South African Sunshine Tour. If you like things a little more beautiful and challenging, Pearl Valley is the right place for you. I played the course back then as a beginner and was still thrilled, the greens were quick but very legible and the course is "fair". If you play well, this course "rewards" you.

As a golf course builder, Jack Nicklaus and his team could let off steam to their hearts' content. Wonderful fairways, always in top condition. Personally, I think the greenkeepers know every blade of grass personally. The result is a really beautiful and challenging golf course. Golf courses of this kind are usually found in the USA. Along most of the fairways, elongated bunkers, waste areas or water hazards defend the way to the green.

But not only the golf course is worth seeing but also the really beautiful houses along the fairways. And every now and then I have seen one or the other PGA player who hit their balls on the driving range in a very relaxed manner and who totally thrilled me with their strokes on the fairways in front of me.
